We’ve found there are many reasons why loyal patients return to Dental Expressions by Dr. Gary Bram year after year for their dental care. One of the biggest of these is Dr. Bram’s absolute and genuine commitment to our patients’ health and well-being. Here are some other reasons our patients are so satisfied:Meet Keran Read Transcript
I was raised here, but in Korea there's no hygiene. It's always just straight into dentistry. So, when I learned about dental hygiene in America, I said, I think that sounds like a great profession. I'm pretty good with my hands, and I love just keeping the mouth clean, and thought that it would be okay.
But we do have patients that when they're anxious, you can tell right away the minute they come in. They don't know where to put their bag, their items, constantly fidgeting. They'll tell you straight off from the beginning, “I'm nervous. I'm scared. I've never done this.”
So, my job for that 45 minutes to one hour that I'm with them is to make them as comfortable as they can. So, I just, instead of rushing into things, I sit them down, explain to them what's going to happen. Give them whatever they need that'll help them, whether it be a pillow on their neck, a little bit of music. And then, just mentally let them know everything I'm going to do, so there's no surprises, and just verbally talk as I'm treating them. And by the end they're surprised at how comfortable they were.
I think the most rewarding is when I have patients tell me how good I am at what I do, and then also when they come back for their maintenance or recall visits, and I see that there's actually an improvement after the treatment that we gave them. For example, if a patient has scaling and root cleaning, they come back three months later and you see minimal bleeding and good home care, that means I'm doing my part, they're doing their part, and we're getting good, optimal results. So, that really makes me feel like it's worthwhile.

We invite you to browse some pictures of our friendly office. Our building is a former home built in 1906. It is the only cobblestone building in the area, and Dr. Bram has spent the last several years completing renovations. We are proud to say that it is now a city landmark!
